Jin Song Leng

Professor Jinsong Leng obtained his BSc and PhD from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1990 and 1996, respectively. He is renowned for his pioneering work in smart materials and structures, particularly in the development and application of shape memory polymers (SMPs) and their composites. His research has significantly advanced the understanding and utilization of SMPs, which can change shape in response to external stimuli such as temperature, light or magnetic fields. These materials have been instrumental in various fields, including aerospace and biomedical engineering. Prof. Leng has authored or co-authored over 410 scientific papers, 14 books/chapters, 120 issued patents and delivered more than 100 invited talks around the world. He has also served as Chairman and member of Scientific Committees in International Conferences and as Guest Editor in scientific journals. In 2021, Prof. Leng was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
